Program Requirements:

State-of-the-art academic facilities for business administration, data processing, word processing, secretarial, and office administration programs.

100 faculty offices, 16 classrooms and a 300-seat auditorium

A computer center used by the entire student population.

Design Solution:

The building’s unique design forms a gateway from student parking areas on the west side of campus, drawing them through a dramatic, multi-story open air passage towards a major sculpture as a focal entry to the campus. The architecture of red brick and exposed concrete continues earlier campus standards, but in striking angular forms responsive to the campus edge site.

The interior is organized around a three-story atrium capped by a large pyramidal skylight. This important space brings the building’s occupants together on a daily basis, encouraging casual opportunities for interactive exchanges.
