Program
Requirements:

Gardencourt is
a combined restoration and renovation to a classic Beaux Arts, 17,000-square-foot
mansion and formal gardens. The Louisville Presbyterian Theological
Seminary wanted to maintain the architectural integrity of this national
historic landmark while renovating the building for mixed uses. The
programming requirements included modern offices, meeting rooms, classrooms,
lecture rooms, and food services. |

Design
Solution:

|
After
a comprehensive study of the structure and history was completed,
a renovation plan was implemented which met all programming requirements
as well as, the addition of an elevator, new roof, new stairs, a complete
environmental system and a state-of-the-art communications and data
processing systems. The
Seminary now utilizes this facility as a major conference center
for many functional components of the national Presbyterian Church,
USA, and often provides offices for visiting lecturers. |
