Louis & Henry
Group developed an adaptive reuse plan for the campus of the Masonic
Widows and Orphan's Home, originally constructed between 1925 and
1927. |

Solution:

Combining
innovative financing and a variety of tax credits, Louis & Henry
Group was able to develop the campus into low-income apartments for
senior citizens. Four vacant buildings were converted into a total
of 76 apartment units. Thirty-five of the 76 units were located in
the former school building. |

Phase
I consisted of 76 apartments and was completed in 1996 at a cost of
$5.5 million. Phase II (27 apartments) was completed in 1995 for $1.5
million. |
